Fight in the Heights: 19th Century Boxing Match Recreation

Commemorating the sport of boxing’s arrival to these shores from England and the brief time that the Morris estate was converted into a tavern following the conclusion of the American Revolution, guests will witness a 19th century boxing match reenactment and learn the incredible story of Tom Molineaux. 

A man born on a southern tobacco plantation in 1784, Molineaux made his made his way north and, through boxing, fought for his freedom. Before and after the reenactment, guests will enjoy locally-brewed beer and live music of the day.
