Adaptable, resourceful, and knows where to find a good meal. While this may describe the average New Yorker, these qualities are also shared by New York City’s raccoons. In honor of International Raccoon Appreciation Day on October 1, share your creative talents and learn more about these masked mammals. Participants will have the opportunity to create their own raccoon awareness chalk art as part of a larger, community-curated piece. All materials provided.

In addition, learn about coexisting with urban wildlife from NYC Parks’ Wildlife Unit, or join an Urban Park Ranger walk to search for signs of raccoons. All are welcome at this event - great for families, wildlife enthusiasts, artists, and those looking to learn more!
