Garden Education Day at Drew Gardens

Join gardeners at Drew Gardens for a full day of workshops! The day will end with a tour of the garden and a potluck community dinner.

2:00 p.m. - Composting 101
Join Smitty Darden, master composter, for an overview of how to compost food scraps and garden scraps in your garden.

3:00 p.m. History of Drew Gardens
Jennifer Plewka, garden educator, will share the history of Drew Gardens.

3:30 p.m. - North American Medicinal Plants 
Muhammad Rahman will discuss medicinal plants growing in the garden, some of which can be found worldwide, such as turmeric, ginger, black seed/nigella, basil, chamomile, dill, peppermint, fennel, garlic, rosemary, bitter melon, lemon balm, yarrow, burdock, and stinging nettle.
