Composting 101: How to Make Black Gold

Join us for a workshop on how to make black gold a.k.a compost - a nutrient rich, soil amendment for healthy soil. In this hands-on workshop, learn about the science behind composting and how to use readily available ingredients to build a compost pile. Techniques for monitoring compost pile, testing for readiness, and sifting finished compost will also be discussed.

Participants are encouraged to bring their compost stories to share. This workshop will be held outside. Please wear closed-toed shoes and and dress appropriately for the weather.

Participants must be 16 years or older to attend. If you are under the age of 18 you must have a guardian sign a liability waiver in advance of workday and must email to arrange for this.
