The Village Community Boathouse, based on Pier 40 in Hudson River Park, seeks qualified volunteers to help with its satellite community rowing program in Prospect Park, Brooklyn. Volunteers need to be physically fit and able to lift boats on and off dollies, and willing to stand in shallow water to help load and unload boats. Some experience paddling (and, especially, rowing) small boats is desirable. The program runs summer Saturdays from noon to 4:00 p.m. with setup beginning at 11:30 a.m. and cleanup concluding at 4:30 p.m..
Email the Village Community Boathouse at firstname.lastname@example.org for more info or to sign up.
The Village Community Boathouse offers free public rowing in traditional wooden rowboats every summer Saturday in Prospect Park. Rowing is on a first-come, first-served basis. Boats launch from the ramp on Well House Drive at the northwetcorner of the lake. All rowers must sign waivers and don life vests; minors must be accompanied by a parent.
