King Kong (2005)

Based on the iconic 1933 film, this 2005 epic follows an ambitious filmmaker who coerces his cast and hired ship crew to travel to the mysterious Skull Island. There they encounter Kong, a legendary giant gorilla, whom they capture and take to New York City. Directed by Peter Jackson (Lord of the Rings),  the film stars Naomi Watts (Mulholland Drive), Jack Black (Jumanji: Welcome to the Jungle), Adrien Brody (The Pianist), and, through motion capture, Andy Serkis (Lord of the Rings) in the title role.
