Bringing Up The Bodies: Open Air History Night

Wednesday, July 18, 2018

6:30 p.m.8:00 p.m.

Don Rice will present a program illuminating the history of Inwood's graveyards and burial sites, called Bringing Up The Bodies.

During the improvement and grading of Inwood's streets in the early 1900s, skeletons by the dozens were discovered. These bones were treated with varying degrees of respect: some went to museums, others were reburied, a few became souvenirs. On July 18, we'll learn the story of Inwood's dead. Where were they found? Do we know who they were? How were they discovered? And what happened to the remains?
