Our Urban Park Rangers specialize in interpretation of historic turning points, both natural and man-made, in our city's long history.
The Jeffrey's Hook Lighthouse, erected in 1880 and moved to its current site in 1921, has become widely known as the children's literary landmark "The Little Red Lighthouse." A park ranger will be on hand to provide information about the history of this unique landmark while you tour the inside.
First come, first served.
Enter the park at the overpass north of the 181st Street and Riverside Drive intersection, then follow the park path/greenway through the park to the George Washington Bridge. The lighthouse is located under the bridge.
