As urbanization increases, connected natural areas become vitally important in sustaining biological diversity and allowing plant and animal species to move from place to place.

NYC-based naturalists Gabriel Willow and David Burglead lead a revealing exploration through the Raoul Wallenberg Forest in Riverdale Park and Wave Hill’s Abrons Woodland to see firsthand how human activity, invasive plants, and other factors have shaped the local ecology. Along the way, expect to see a surprising variety of trees, wildflowers, insects, birds and other animals that have successfully adapted to their urban habitats.
