During New York's early years, clean water was paramount to the success of our great metropolis. The Croton Aqueduct brought the water we needed to combat the cholera epidemic of the 1830s.
Join the Urban Park Rangers on this historic walk along Highbridge, and learn how New York City's oldest bridge, completed in 1848, brought water from the Bronx to Manhattan, and helped our city grow in the 19th and 20th centuries.
