Arts, Culture & Fun: Winterize your Bike
Saturday, February 24, 2018
1:00 p.m.–4:00 p.m.
Join us as we provide riders with a three-part workshop to help maximize your riding experience.
In this winterizing workshop, riders will learn how to prepare their body and bicycles during the winter months. A panel led by Judith Desire and cycling enthusiasts will discuss personal techniques and methods to winterizing a bicycle and how to remain alert and safe on the road. Learn to change a flat tire and more basic bike workshop skills. Short films on biking in the elements will be screened during the day. A Q&A will follow the talk.
Look out for two more workshops coming up!
- Alone on the Road Repair - March 24
- Spring is Here! Get Ready to Ride - April 14
Judith Desire is the founder of Uptown & Boogie Bicycle Advocacy, an organization that provides cyclist based social activities to the Uptown Manhattan and Bronx communities. Our goal is to provide New Yorker riders with a greater and better understanding of commuting and traveling throughout the Uptown and Bronx areas as well as to promote awareness on the health benefits of cycling.
Please note: RSVP is not required, but let us know you are coming at bikeworkshop1.eventbrite.com.
The event is held indoors at the Mullaly Bike Park Field House. Enter Mullaly Park at 164th street and River Avenue.
