DACA Immigrants 5K Run

Saturday, October 28, 2017

9:15 a.m.1:00 p.m.

Please note: This event has already taken place. Please use the Search options on the right to find upcoming events.

Please note: The meeting time and location has changed from 10:00 a.m. at St. Ann's Avenue and 149th Street to 9:15 a.m. at the park entrance between St. Ann's Avenue and Eagle Avenue.

This event is being held to create awareness of the rights of immigrants especially the Dreamers whose fate now hangs in the balance after the present administration ended the DACA program. This event will not only bring together the community to run and walk but also to share experiences from those who achieved so much and contributed positively to the community because of the opportunities they were able to access through DACA.

Participants have the choice of running or walking; for those who chose to walk, you are welcome to bring banners, and signs supporting the immigrant community. We also welcome all organizations/nonprofits who would like to partake in the 5K.

We ask for a minimum donation of $10; your donation will not only help host this event but will also help to continue to expand awareness of our work.

After the run, immigrants and refugees will have the opportunity to share their life stories as immigrants in this country.

We hope you will take part in this meaningful event!
