Based on F. Scott Fitzgerald's 1925 novel of the same name, this romantic classic follows Nick Carraway as navigates his way through the decadent mansions of 1920s Long Island. He becomes involved in the life of the mysterious Jay Gatsby (Robert Redford), a tycoon who pines for his lost love, Daisy (Mia Farrow). When she arrives with her husband (Bruce Dern) at his lavish party, a doomed love triangle emerges. Produced by David Merrick and written Francis Ford Coppola, this film also stars Lois Chiles, Karen Black and Howard Da Silva (who appeared in the original 1949 version).
