Laughter in the Park is a free, outdoor weekly comedy series, presented by, that takes place over the course of four weeks throughout the summer.

Every Sunday starting July 9, you can catch up to two hours of stand up comedy performed by some of comedy's most innovative and talked about artists.   Please bring a blanket and a picnic basket!

Greer Barnes
Greer is well known in the New York comedy scene, performing regularly at top clubs such as the Comedy Cellar. Recently on an episode of "Louis," fellow comedian Dave Attell ranted to Louis C.K. about how he cannot follow Greer Barnes.  His debut album, "See What I'm Saying", recently reached No. 13 on the iTunes Comedy Charts.

Alingon Mitra
Alingon is a NYC-based comedian who has written for "The Daily Show with Trevor Noah", "Adam Ruins Everything," and "The Harvard Lampoon."

Mark Normand
Mark has done a Comedy Central half hour special, as well as released an album titled "Still Got It" with Comedy Central records. He regularly opens for Amy Schumer.

Gina Yashere (headliner)
Gina recently joined Comedy Central's "The Daily Show with Trevor Noah" as their British Correspondent and contributor.  She is a well-known stand up and TV star in the UK and was named a top ten rising talent by the Hollywood Reporter.  She broke onto the American comedy scene with her appearances on NBC's "Last Comic Standing."  She is also known in the US for being the only British comedian to ever appear on the iconic "Def Comedy Jam," as well as for her hilarious appearances on "The Tonight Show" (NBC), "Crashing" (HBO), "@Midnight" on Comedy Central and her 1 hour stand up special, "Skinny B*tch" on Showtime.  Her third stand up special taped in the UK called "Gina Yashere: Ticking Boxes," is currently being streamed in the US on NBC's Seeso.

Our shows are as follows: 

  • Sunday, July 9 - Garibaldi Plaza in Washington Square Park, 2:00 p.m. - 4:00 p.m.
  • Sunday July 16 - Granite Prospect at Brooklyn Bridge Park, 4:30 p.m. - 6:30 p.m. 
  • Sunday, July 23 - Old Bandshell Lawn at Tompkins Square Park, 2:00 p.m. - 4:00 p.m. 
  • Sunday, July 30 - Mineral Spring in Central Park, 2:00 p.m. - 4:00 p.m. 

About NY Laughs is a unique non-profit that aims to change the cultural landscape of the Big Apple through humor. From parks to streets and even subways, we provide New Yorkers laughter free of charge with our public, live comedy shows.  We want to celebrate and deepen an appreciation of the comic arts. We also want to make New York a better place by cultivating community, inspiring our audiences, and making the city a happier and healthier place through laughter.
