NYC Parks and Dr. Jane Goodall's Roots & Shoots Project present a festival featuring youth groups and community groups that work to make their city and neighborhoods green.

Join us for an afternoon of fun to celebrate local greening and horticulture efforts by community groups citywide. There will be numerous local greening groups with tables exhibiting their work, as well as speeches by NYC Parks officials and Dr. Jane Goodall. There will be live music by the up and coming Solar Sound Band.

NYC Parks stewards nearly 30,000 acres of parkland and oversees thousands of gardens. Dr. Jane Goodall, famous for her groundbreaking studies on chimpanzee behavior, started the Root & Shoots organization to foster environmental stewardship in youth.
