Former danseur with Ballet de Puerto Rico, Ernesto Camacho will present his debut exhibition, “Dreams of Color,” throughout the month. "Dreams of Color" is an exhibition that celebrates dancers of color in the world of ballet.
Ballet has been seen, for the most part, with dancers of one hue. Within the last few decades, a crop of new dancers has introduced the beauty of diversity in one of the world’s most beautiful and powerful art forms, ballet.
Ernesto has exhibited at various galleries in New York City and Connecticut. He has won awards throughout the years including, the 15th Annual Brio Award, from the Bronx Council on The Arts, and First Prize in Bohemia Beers Kahlo Challenge, in which his painting became part of Bohemia Beer’s permanent collection. His paintings have appeared in newspapers and magazines such as the New York Times, Manhattan Arts International, Manhattan Times, the Advocate, and the Greenwich Times.
