Urban Park Rangers specialize in interpretation of historic turning points, both natural and man-made, in our city’s long history. Historic New York programs highlight the history and architecture of selected neighborhoods or parks.

This guided walk will highlight the history of Grand Ferry Park and the stories of the surrounding neighborhood. Grand Ferry Park was a ferry landing that served the burgeoning populace of Williamsburg before it became part of Brooklyn. It is named for the 19th-century Grand Street Ferry, which once carried farm goods and passengers across the East River to Manhattan.
