The WCS’s (Wildlife Conservation Society) Prospect Park Zoo is celebrating the year of the sheep with special activities to ring in the Lunar New Year.
Meet the Sheep - 12:30 p.m. and 2:30 p.m.
Meet-and-greets with the zoo's Cotswold and Jacob's four-horned sheep will take place in celebration of the Year of the Sheep.
Puppet Show - 1 p.m. and 3 p.m.
Chinese Theatre Works will present “Hao Bang Ah, Sheep!,” a sheep-themed puppet show.
Lunar New Year Zodiac Scavenger Hunt - 11 a.m. to 4 p.m.
Visitors will use a scavenger hunt map to search for answers about zoo animals that might also be represented in the lunar zodiac. Those who complete the hunt will receive a prize.
Calligraphy - 11: 30 a.m. to 2 p.m.
Professional artists will discuss the importance of calligraphy in Chinese and other Asian cultures, and show visitors how to say their names in Chinese.
Crafts - 11 a.m. to 4 p.m.
Paper lantern and red money envelope crafting are part of the weekend’s festivities.

WCS works extensively throughout China to protect local wildlife and habitats. This new gallery will be a photographic look at some of WCS China’s major projects throughout the years.
. $8 for adults, $6 for seniors 65 and older, $5 for kids 3-12, free for children under 3.
