You can raise chickens in New York City! Visit our live chicken coop and learn about the benefits of raising your own flock in an urban setting. We have workshops suitable for all levels of experience. These workshops are free, so come on by to learn more, hold a chicken for the first time, and enjoy this unique green space in the heart of Brooklyn.

Dates & Times
Every 2nd Thursday, July - October
5:30 – Garden gates open
6:00 – Workshop begins
7:00-7:15 – Open House and Q&A with instructor

July 10 – Beginner: Introduction to Urban Chicken Keeping
August 14 – Advanced: Health Inspections and Solutions
September 11 – Beginner: Introduction to Urban Chicken Keeping
October 9** – Preparing Your Coop for Winter

**Please note that the October workshop will start earlier due to the earlier sunset time. Schedule is:
5:00 – Garden gates open

6:15-6:30 – Open House and Q&A with instructor

We're also holding chicken-keeping workshops in the Bronx, at Paradise on Earth ( 1106 Fox Street, Bronx, NY) on July 30, Aug 27, Sept 24, Oct 29.
