Washington Square Music Festival: Harmonica & Harp with Festival Orchestra

In three concerts in June and August, Washington Square Music Festival offers its 56th season of free music and song. Organized under the auspices of Washington Square Association Inc. The first concert will take place Tuesday, June 17, 8 pm.

Harmonica & Harp with Festival Orchestra will feature:

 
  • Soloist: Robert Bonfiglio, harmonica (called “the Paganini of the harmonica" by The Los Angeles Times);
  • Lutz Rath, conductor and the Washington Square Music Festival Orchestra performing Heitor Villa Lobos’ Concerto for Harmonica, Gustav Mahler’s Adagietto for strings and harp from his Fifth Symphony. 
  • Also works by Peter von Winter and JP Saxe, grandson of cellist János Starker, performing his own compositions.
