Run the River 5K

Hosted by the Randall’s Island Park Alliance, Run the River has become one of New York’s most unique and talked-about road races – beginning and ending in iconic Icahn Stadium, the certified course takes runners along Randall’s Island’s scenic waterfront pathways, offering breathtaking views of the New York City skyline and the East River. The race finishes on Icahn Stadium’s 400-meter, IAAF and Olympic-certified Mondo track. 
The top three male and female runners will receive an award and a cash prize (1st Place $150, 2nd Place $100 & 3rd Place $50).  Awards also to be given to the top three male and female runners in the following age group categories: 18 & under; 19-29; 30-39; 40-49; 50-59; and 60+. Prizes will also be givin to the team that finishes first, and the team with the most members. All runners will receive a complimentary t-shirt. 
Join the RIPA Young Professionals Council after the race for our signature Run the River Happy Hour, featuring live entertainment, snacks, and well-deserved Greenport Harbor Brewing Company beer.
After the 5K, children can run in the Run the River Children’s Race on Icahn Stadium’s track. The races begin at approximately 11 a.m, and all kids that participate will receive a medal. Age group categories: 4 & under (100 m); 5-6 years (100 m); 7-8 years (200 m); 9-10 years (300 m); and 11-12 years (400 m).
