Bring your friends, get out of the house, and come visit the "stoep" of New York City’s oldest house. Featuring games that have brought neighborhoods together for ages, Summer Stoop is a FREE afternoon event celebrating street and stoop life in Brooklyn, past and present. Get ready to play dominoes, Scrabble, hopscotch, chess, and more. Need to let out a little steam? Young and old alike will enjoy potato sack races, lawn bowling, and table tennis. Try your hand at colonial games like graces, nine pins and hoops. Gather around as storyteller Robin Bady spins tales about Brooklyn's colorful past. Local steel drum musicians will entertain and hot dogs, homemade lavender lemonade, and other treats will be available for purchase. Don’t forget to take a specially themed tour of New York’s oldest house to learn even more about stoop culture in early America.
