Join MillionTreesNYC and NYC Parks crews in caring for trees this month.

This winter NYC Parks crews are structurally pruning young trees by removing broken and crossed branches. We welcome volunteers to work alongside these crews to care for street tree beds once the trees have been pruned. Join us in removing litter and spreading mulch, and you will have the chance to watch the experts in action and witness the pruning process.

Help water and care for the 60,000 new street trees that have been planted across New York City! Join the MillionTreesNYC Stewardship Corps and help keep New York City green by coming to a free MillionTreesNYC stewardship workshop where you will learn:

  • What is MillionTreesNYC?
  • How to identify trees in New York City
  • Benefits trees bring to our city
  • Tree Care - Water! Weed! Mulch!

All participants will care for trees using small gardening tools and watering buckets. Please dress for light gardening work, wear close-toed shoes, and bring a refillable water bottle.

Pledge to take care of a specific street tree and get a free watering kit and volunteer card.
