Do people eat plants? When you bite into a carrot, what part are you biting into? Learn about plant parts by examining the plants we eat! Join Brooklyn Botanic Garden staff as we explore plant parts and their functions in a hands-on way. Then, pot up your own collection of edible plants to take back to the classroom.
Please bring half gallon juice or milk cartons (preferably not plastic) for planting.
This workshop will end with a garden book giveaway for Registered Grow to Learn school gardens only (2-3 titles each).
Location details: Please enter the Garden at 1000 Washington Avenue (between Crown St. and Montgomery St.) and the security guard will direct you. Parking is available for a fee in the Brooklyn Museum/Botanic Garden parking lot located at 990 Washington Avenue.
