The Harlem Center for Healthy Living opened its doors in 2008 as a means to address the health disparities in Harlem, by focusing on education, activities and support in the prevention of obesity, hypertension, diabetes type 2, and heart disease. HCHL aspires to empower members with life-long healthy living habits. The monthly calendar of classes and activities include pilates, yoga, total body conditioning, salsa dancing, one on one healthy lifestyle coaching, healthy cooking demonstrations, holistic health workshops, and healthy community meals. Our goal at HCHL is to make wellness practices accessible and affordable for ALL in our community and to care for the total person/family. Improve cardiovascular strength and flexibility through the use of basic, intermediate, and advance kettlbell movements and by incorporating the "Tabata System," a period of active work plus rest, i.e., 2 to 4 minutes of work, with 30 seconds to 1 minute of rest for the designated 6, 8, 10, or 12 rounds.  The order of exercises will change, alternating between 30 seconds to 1 minute per exercise for each round to enable the body to adapt, resulting in faster improvements.

This class is a safe full body workout that focus on functional movements a person would have to perform in their day to day activities. Rising NYRR  is a program in collaboration with New York Road Runners that records weekly mileage of participants. Prizes are based on total mileage completed over the course of 12 weeks.

HCHL aspires to empower members with life-long healthy living habits. The monthly calendar of classes and activities include pilates, yoga, total body conditioning, salsa dancing, one on one healthy lifestyle coaching, healthy cooking demonstrations, holistic health workshops, and healthy community meals. Our goal at HCHL is to make wellness practices accessible and affordable for ALL in our community and to care for the total person/family. Children under 14 must be accompanied by a parent or guardian.

You may use any of Parks' recreational spaces, except tennis courts, without a permit. However, if a permit holder arrives with a valid permit in hand, you must vacate the field or court. An individual must have a season permit or single-play ticket to use Parks' tennis courts.
