Adaptive Basketball is McCarren's wheelchair basketball program, open to both disabled and able-bodied New Yorkers.  Sports wheelchairs are provided, so anyone can join!  Wheelchair basketball is challenging and, most of all, fun! 

This program is accessible for people with disabilities.

This program is accessible for people with disabilities.

Come learn the basics of adaptive sports such as: Wheelchair Basketball, Wheelchair Football, Wheelchair tennis, Wheelchair Floor Hockey, Wheelchair Softball, Sled Hockey(on ice), Sitting Volleyball, Adapted Swimming, Power Wheelchair Soccer, Track and Field Events.

 Wheelchairs are provided for use in the program.

For Ages 5 and Up with a physical disability.

Must register for the program and must be a Recreation Center member.

This free program offers aquatic exercise therapy that ranges from gentle water walking to aerobic-type exercise which improves range of motion, flexibility, mobility, muscle tone, coordination, focus and strength.  The program also offers swim instruction that focuses on becoming comfortable in the water and learning basic swimming and safety skill.
