Body Conditioning on the Ball (formerly Stability Ball) uses the Physio-Ball to work on core strength, employing the Pilates vocabulary. The Ball is a fun full-body strengthening tool that provides flexibility and aerobic benefits. Bouncing, strengthening and stretching in this class is challenging and fun.

Capoeira Afro-Brazilian Martial Art

Capoeira is an Afro-Brazilian martial art that combines elements of dance acrobatics, and music. It was developed by enslaved Africans in Brazil at the begining of the 16 century. It is know for its acrobatic and complex manueuvers, often involving hands on the ground and inverted kicks.  

Children and Youth ages 6 years to 17 years are encouraged to experience Capoeria.

Learn Carribean dances and rythms in this multi-level class which is sure to keep you moving and have fun.

Caribbean Dance - Youth

Williamsbridge Oval Recreation Center, 3225 Reservoir Oval East, Bronx

Age:  

Youth will learn the moves of the Caribbean.  They will get a workout while dancing to the beats.

 

This class  is part of a drop in program this means there is a variety of classes that regularly happen Monday - Friday between 3-6pm.  Youth are welcome to come every day or only one day.  They can stay for all 3 hours or just one. 

Classes include team building, track and field, drama, yoga, basketball, creative art, ping pong, dance, field trips and more. 

We also offer programming for the school breaks please inquire with email below.
