This low-impact fitness program is perfect for those who want to get in shape, build muscle tone, strength and increase cardiovascular health while enjoying Central Park's beautiful landscapes. Clinics are held every Saturday morning from 9:30am-11:00am at the North Meadow Recreation Center. Free. No pre-registration required and open to all abilities.

Programs take place rain or shine, except in extreme weather conditions (heavy rain, sustained winds of 30mph or more, snowstorms, and a wind chill below 25 or heat index above 95 degrees.

Level 2 programs are for those who want to focus on a more advanced fitness regimen. These exercises are done from a standing position or while lying on the floor or mat. These activities are minimally modified and you must be able to move from a standing position to the floor or mat independently.

Our wellness programs are a 22 to 24-week format, and incorporate a holistic approach to promote wellness of mind, body and spirit. Classes will employ similar modalities of movement like yoga, Pilates and aerobic exercise. Guest classes on Reiki, stress management, tai chi and other subjects will provide an enhanced, comprehensive experience for all participants. All classes are designed to tone and strengthen muscles, with a focus on strength and cardiovascular fitness. Light weights and exercise bands are often used.

Our wellness programs are a 22 to 24-week format, and incorporate a holistic approach to promote wellness of mind, body and spirit. Classes will employ similar modalities of movement like yoga, Pilates and aerobic exercise. Guest classes on Reiki, stress management, tai chi and other subjects will provide an enhanced, comprehensive experience for all participants. All classes are designed to tone and strengthen muscles, with a focus on strength and cardiovascular fitness. Light weights and exercise bands are often used.

Level 2 programs are for those who want to focus on a more advanced fitness regimen. These exercises are done from a standing position or while lying on the floor or mat. These activities are minimally modified and you must be able to move from a standing position to the floor or mat independently.

Our wellness programs are a 22 to 24-week format, and incorporate a holistic approach to promote wellness of mind, body and spirit. Classes will employ similar modalities of movement like yoga, Pilates and aerobic exercise. Guest classes on Reiki, stress management, tai chi and other subjects will provide an enhanced, comprehensive experience for all participants. All classes are designed to tone and strengthen muscles, with a focus on strength and cardiovascular fitness. Light weights and exercise bands are often used.

Come to Fort Tryon Park and try something new. Join us on Saturdays, Tuesday, and Thursday mornings for one hour of walking, stretching, and strengthening exercises.

All of our fitness programs are free, led by trained professionals, and suitable for all levels. Wear comfortable clothing and bring water. Please check back for rain and weather/air advisory cancels.

For a breath of fresh air, take your workouts outdoors. Parks are becoming a logical alternative environment for those who want to add variety to their work outs, or who just don't like the gym. And, it's an affordable way to increase physical activity opportunities, because there's nothing special to build.

Exercise with a view, in natural sunlight, with green scenery all around bestows health benefits that can’t be found indoors. Scientific studies have shown that the pleasure of being outdoors for example gives your brain, psyche, and immune system an extra boost.

Please note: Fitness programs are canceled if the weather is lower than 20 degrees and when there are icy conditions.

Celebrate health and longevity at this four-mile race in Brooklyn's Prospect Park. A standout track runner in college, Al Gordon started running marathons in his 80s and exercised regularly until the end of his life in 2009—at age 107. Lace up in Gordon's honor!

This is a classic race that brings back the feel—and the pricing—of events of yesteryear. The entry fee is $10 in all categories, and there are no T-shirts, no physical awards (award winners will be listed on our website as usual), and no post-race activities. The race is timed and scored, but it is not a marathon qualifier and it has a reduced field size. Please note: This event is open to New York Road Runners members only.

Clinics are held every Saturday morning from 9:30am-11:00am at the North Meadow Recreation Center. Free. No pre-registration required and open to all abilities.

Programs take place rain or shine, except in extreme weather conditions (heavy rain, sustained winds of 30mph or more, snowstorms, and a wind chill below 25 or heat index above 95 degrees.
