Experience Central Park when it becomes a precious bird habitat and migration hot spot!

Bring your family and join Conservancy Discovery Guides and NYC Audubon Society on a guided walk. Learn how to spot our feathered neighbors who make their home in the park and their foreign cousins as they make their stop in Central Park during their annual migration. Witness firsthand how the Conservancy's work has made the park a sanctuary for these birds. Binoculars can be borrowed from the Dana Discovery Center.

Familes only, maximum of three children per parent or guardian; no groups. Ages 5+. Free, pre-registration not required but strongly preferred. Space is limited; arrive early for check in.

This programs takes place every Sunday, May 3 - May 31, rain or shine, except in extreme weather conditions (heavy rain, sustained winds of 30mph or more, snowstorms, and a wind chill below 25 or heat index above 95 degrees). For more information, please call (212) 860-1370.

  • Nature on the Go!, 1–2 pm
    Did you know 25 types of warblers stop at Prospect Park in May? Learn how to identify these cute and colorful birds on a bird walk. Participants will also create their own pair of binoculars and learn how to identify these colorful songbirds.
  • Nature’s Helpers, 2–3 pm
    Did you know that trees help trees? After learning how mulch protects tree roots, spend time spreading wood chips around trees.
  • Family Birdwatching, 3–4 pm
    After learning how to use binoculars, join our naturalists to identify some of the 250 species of birds that call Prospect Park home.

    The Prospect Park Alliance invites you to get inspired by nature with our new Discovery Packs, a ready-to-go kits filled with nature activities for families. In May, monitor the development of plants that supply food and shelter for birds in Prospect Park.
  • Lakeside Nature Stroll, 12–1 pm
    Join Alliance naturalists for a guided nature walk through the meandering paths of the Peninsula and scout for plants that thrive in that unique environment.
  • Junior Naturalists, 1–2 pm
    Help Alliance naturalists track the growth of important plant species in this citizen science program.
  • Nature’s Helpers, 2–3 pm
    Let’s lend a helping hand to make our park a better place. Learn how mulch helps trees, spread wood chips or protect the environment by removing damaging litter.
  • Family Birdwatching, 3–4 pm
    After learning how to use binoculars, join our naturalists to identify some of the 250 species of birds that call Prospect Park home.

Experience Central Park when it becomes a precious bird habitat and migration hot spot!

Bring your family and join Conservancy Discovery Guides and NYC Audubon Society on a guided walk. Learn how to spot our feathered neighbors who make their home in the park and their foreign cousins as they make their stop in Central Park during their annual migration. Witness firsthand how the Conservancy's work has made the park a sanctuary for these birds. Binoculars can be borrowed from the Dana Discovery Center.

Familes only, maximum of three children per parent or guardian; no groups. Ages 5+. Free, pre-registration not required but strongly preferred. Space is limited; arrive early for check in.

This programs takes place every Sunday, May 3 - May 31, rain or shine, except in extreme weather conditions (heavy rain, sustained winds of 30mph or more, snowstorms, and a wind chill below 25 or heat index above 95 degrees). For more information, please call (212) 860-1370.

    Did you know 25 types of warblers stop at Prospect Park in May? Learn how to identify these cute and colorful birds on a bird walk. Participants will also create their own pair of binoculars and learn how to identify these colorful songbirds.
  • Nature’s Helpers, 2–3 pm
    Did you know that trees help trees? After learning how mulch protects tree roots, spend time spreading wood chips around trees.
  • Family Birdwatching, 3–4 pm
    After learning how to use binoculars, join our naturalists to identify some of the 250 species of birds that call Prospect Park home.

    The Prospect Park Alliance invites you to get inspired by nature with our new Discovery Packs, a ready-to-go kits filled with nature activities for families. In May, monitor the development of plants that supply food and shelter for birds in Prospect Park.
  • Lakeside Nature Stroll, 12–1 pm
    Join Alliance naturalists for a guided nature walk through the meandering paths of the Peninsula and scout for plants that thrive in that unique environment.
  • Junior Naturalists, 1–2 pm
    Help Alliance naturalists track the growth of important plant species in this citizen science program.
  • Nature’s Helpers, 2–3 pm
    Let’s lend a helping hand to make our park a better place. Learn how mulch helps trees, spread wood chips or protect the environment by removing damaging litter.
  • Family Birdwatching, 3–4 pm

Experience Central Park when it becomes a precious bird habitat and migration hot spot!

Bring your family and join Conservancy Discovery Guides and NYC Audubon Society on a guided walk. Learn how to spot our feathered neighbors who make their home in the park and their foreign cousins as they make their stop in Central Park during their annual migration. Witness firsthand how the Conservancy's work has made the park a sanctuary for these birds. Binoculars can be borrowed from the Dana Discovery Center.

Familes only, maximum of three children per parent or guardian; no groups. Ages 5+. Free, pre-registration not required but strongly preferred. Space is limited; arrive early for check in.

This programs takes place every Sunday, May 3 - May 31, rain or shine, except in extreme weather conditions (heavy rain, sustained winds of 30mph or more, snowstorms, and a wind chill below 25 or heat index above 95 degrees). For more information, please call (212) 860-1370.

Experience Central Park when it becomes a precious bird habitat and migration hot spot!

Bring your family and join Conservancy Discovery Guides and NYC Audubon Society on a guided walk. Learn how to spot our feathered neighbors who make their home in the park and their foreign cousins as they make their stop in Central Park during their annual migration. Witness firsthand how the Conservancy's work has made the park a sanctuary for these birds. Binoculars can be borrowed from the Dana Discovery Center.

Familes only, maximum of three children per parent or guardian; no groups. Ages 5+. Free, pre-registration not required but strongly preferred. Space is limited; arrive early for check in.

This programs takes place every Sunday, May 3 - May 31, rain or shine, except in extreme weather conditions (heavy rain, sustained winds of 30mph or more, snowstorms, and a wind chill below 25 or heat index above 95 degrees). For more information, please call (212) 860-1370.

  • Nature on the Go!, 1–2 pm
    Did you know 25 types of warblers stop at Prospect Park in May? Learn how to identify these cute and colorful birds on a bird walk. Participants will also create their own pair of binoculars and learn how to identify these colorful songbirds.
  • Nature’s Helpers, 2–3 pm
    Did you know that trees help trees? After learning how mulch protects tree roots, spend time spreading wood chips around trees.
  • Family Birdwatching, 3–4 pm
    After learning how to use binoculars, join our naturalists to identify some of the 250 species of birds that call Prospect Park home.

    The Prospect Park Alliance invites you to get inspired by nature with our new Discovery Packs, a ready-to-go kits filled with nature activities for families. In May, monitor the development of plants that supply food and shelter for birds in Prospect Park.
  • Lakeside Nature Stroll, 12–1 pm
    Join Alliance naturalists for a guided nature walk through the meandering paths of the Peninsula and scout for plants that thrive in that unique environment.
  • Junior Naturalists, 1–2 pm
    Help Alliance naturalists track the growth of important plant species in this citizen science program.
  • Nature’s Helpers, 2–3 pm
