Paddington tells the story of a young bear (Ben Whishaw) who loses his home in a deadly earthquake in the Peruvian rain forest. In searchof a new home, he makes his way to England and finds himself at the "Paddington" train station in London. He finds shelter with the family of Henry (Hugh Bonneville) and Mary Brown (Sally Hawkins). Although Paddington's amazement at urban living soon endears him to the Browns, someone else has her eye on him: Taxidermist Millicent Clyde (Nicole Kidman) has designs on the rare bear and his hide. Rated PG.

Capoeira is a unique Brazilian art form that has evolved over centuries into an exciting combination of martial arts, dance, music, and acrobatics. Some of capoeira’s benefits include strength, flexibility, stamina, overall fitness and confidence. Benefits of capoeira for kids include promoting social interaction and sense of belonging, building confidence, discipline and self esteem, promoting a healthy lifestyle so children become active, and healthy, and develop cultural awareness and tolerance. Wear comfortable clothing.

Capoeira was developed in Brazil, but its history extends to Africa and tribes from Angola. Slaves living on Brazilian Plantations who weren’t allowed to openly practice traditional forms of self-defense developed an ingenious method of disguising their training by combining it with dance-like movements, singing, and the rhythms of primitive instruments.

Join NYC Parks for free, family-friendly movies in our city's parks!

In this contemporary version of Annie, the orphan (Quvenzhané Wallis) has a hard-knock life with her calculating foster mother Miss Hannigan (Cameron Diaz). However, all that changes when hard-nosed billionaire and mayoral candidate Will Stacks (Jamie Foxx) takes her in. Stacks believes that he's Annie's guardian angel. But, Annie's confidence and sunny outlook could save Will instead. Rated PG.

Please bring your own picnic blanket or chair, as there is a limited supply of chairs reserved for seniors or people with disabilities. Food is OK, but no alcohol. However, in this modern adaptation of the American folk tale, Brier Rabbit’s pals are on to his tricks, and set out to teach him a lesson he won’t soon forget!

CityParks PuppetMobile, one of the only traveling puppet theaters in the country, brings Swedish Cottage Marionette Theatre productions and puppet-making workshops to all corners of the city, free of charge. Traveling the five boroughs in a PuppetMobile equipped with a stage and staff of professional puppeteers, the CityParks PuppetMobile brings entertainment to 50,000 children and families each year. Performances are held in parks, playgrounds, and recreation centers from April to October.

It's not too late to register for camp this season! Greenbelt Summer Day Camp for children age 5 - 13 years runs from 7/6 to 8/13.

The Greenbelt Environmental Education Department is dedicated to forstering an appreciation of the outdoors in children of all ages.

The camp's headquarters is located at High Rock Park, a 72-acre forest preserve. Campers will explore our hiking trails, natural areas, creeks, ponds, the nature center, and carousel. Campers will also take off-site trips to other parks each session. New York City Department of Health and Mental Hygiene licenses our camp; this means we follow their low child-to-counselor ratio, making camp safe and fun for all.
