Visit the Wyckoff Farmhouse this winter for a free family day!

While our public tours on Fridays and Saturdays are normally geared for an adult audience, we’ve planned engaging, kid-friendly tours, hands-on activities, scavenger hunts, and more on select Saturdays. If the weather’s nice, bring a picnic and enjoy our grounds before or after your visit to the house.

If you plan to visit with children under 10, we recommend visiting before 2 p.m. to take advantage of specially planned activities for younger children.

Join us for a journey back in time to the elite "Bond Street area", home to Astors, Vanderbilts, Delanos, and the Tredwells, who lived in the Merchant’s House.

You’ll walk the footsteps of these wealthy mercantile families whose elegant Federal mansions once lined the tranquil cobblestone streets. Our tour passes by iconic landmarks such as the imposing Colonnade Row, the Public Theater, and The Cooper Union, where Lincoln gave his "right makes might" speech. Please join us for the 32nd annual Medieval Festival in Fort Tryon Park. This festival brings to life the customs and spirit of the Middle Ages.

Fort Tryon Park is transformed into a medieval market town decorated with bright banners and processional flags. Performers, guests, and festival goers dress in medieval costume. Visitors are greeted by authentic period music, dance, magic, and minstrels, as well as jugglers and jesters. The afternoon is concluded with a thrilling joust between four knights on horseback. Costumed vendors will be on hand to demonstrate and sell a wide variety of medieval crafts as well as food and drink. Experience the culture of a bygone era against the backdrop of the Cloisters museum and the Hudson River during autumn's peak. We invite all ages to join us for this unique experience.

The festival is held in the area surrounding the world famous Cloisters, a magnificent museum of medieval art located in northern Manhattan.

The event is free but Medieval crafts, clothing, etc., and food will be available for purchase.

Please note: There will be no ATM's on site at the festival.

Most areas are wheelchair accessible; however, persons with mobility issues may experience difficulty maneuvering on lawn areas.

This event is co-sponsored by Washington Heights and Inwood Development Corporation.
