Catch-and-release fishing is a great way to get outdoors and discover nature just a few blocks from home. Seining programs, which use nets to catch fish and crustaceans close to shore, are great for kids of all ages.

Our experienced Rangers teach the ethics of fishing and the ecology of our waterways on every fishing program.

Participation in a mandatory safety review lead by a trained Ranger is required. All equipment is provided.

Celebrate Manhattan’s only remaining lighthouse at the 22nd Little Red Lighthouse Festival! This fun and free event includes tours of the lighthouse with the Urban Park Rangers, readings of the children’s book The Little Red Lighthouse and the Great Gray Bridge, fishing clinics with I Fish NY & DEC, live entertainment, food vendors, and activities for the whole family!

Times tickets for Lighthouse tours will be given out beginnning at 12:00 p.m. Tickets may run out before the end of the event.
