Since 1989, Circus Amok has brought its funny, queer, caustic, political, one-ring spectacles to diverse neighborhoods throughout New York City.

Circus Amok blends traditional circus skills – tight-rope walking, juggling, acrobatics, stilt walking, and clowning – with experimental dance, puppetry, music old and new, performance art and improvisational techniques.

Circus Amok invites audiences of all ages to envision a more empowered life of community interaction while enjoying a celebratory spectacle.

Please join us for the 30th annual Medieval Festival on September 28th, 2014 from 11:30 a.m. to 6:00 p.m. in Fort Tryon Park.

This festival brings to life the customs and spirit of the Middle Ages. Fort Tryon Park is transformed into a medieval market town decorated with bright banners and processional flags. Performers, guests and festival goers dress in medieval costume. Visitors are greeted by authentic period music, dance, magic, and minstrels, as well as jugglers and jesters. The afternoon is concluded with a thrilling joust between four knights on horseback. Costumed vendors will be on hand to demonstrate and sell a wide variety of medieval crafts as well as food and drink. Experience the culture of a bygone era against the backdrop of the Cloisters museum and the Hudson River during autumn's peak. We invite all ages to join us for this unique experience.

The festival is held in the area surrounding the world famous Cloisters, a magnificent museum of medieval art located in northern Manhattan.

The event is free but Medieval crafts, clothing, etc. and food will be available for purchase.

Most areas are wheelchair accessible however, persons with mobility issues may experience difficulty maneuvering on lawn areas.

This event is co-sponsored by Washington Heights and Inwood Development Corporation.

Start time: 11:30 am

End time: 6:00 pm
