SUMMARY:FrogWatch USA Monthly Monitoring Sessions with Bonus Salamander Monitoring Program and Information
DESCRIPTION: Become a citizen scientist and discover how you can help frogs and toads in our environment by identifying and monitoring their unique vocal calls. FrogWatch USA is a nationwide program that monitors and tracks amphibian populations by collecting date with help from volunteers like you! After the training session, monthly monitoring sessions will be held in various locations in the central Greenbelt. Your data is valuable in assessing the health and biodiversity of local amphibian populations, and you may also have a chance to monitor your favorite wetland with your family, friends, or scout troop. You may also have the opportunity to attend special workshops related to amphibians. Community service credit is available. For more information, or to register for monitoring sessions, please contact naturecenter@sigreenbelt.org or (718 )351-3450 x303.
