Golf can be played at two locations.

The Van Cortlandt Golf Course was the nation's first public course when it opened in 1895. The Golf Clubhouse, built in 1902, is situated on the lake and contains equipment rental facilities, lockers, and a snack shop. Subway riders can get there by walking east from the IRT Nos. 1 and 9 terminal. Drivers can enter the park off Bailey Avenue and Van Cortlandt Park South, adjacent to the northbound entrance to the Major Deegan Expressway.

The Mosholu Golf Learning Center is located in the park's southeastern section along Jerome Avenue. Its entrance is just north of the IRT No. 4 subway's Woodlawn station. The course, opened in 1914, is a nine-hole short course with numerous driving bays.
