SIDEWALK ARBORETA

Sidewalk arboreta bring the diversity and learning opportunities of a botanical garden to the city streets. Planted with a variety of clearly labeled street tree species, our sidewalk arboreta provide a new way for the public to enjoy the city's natural world. They serve as a showcase of diverse urban street tree specimens, a resource for citizens wishing to learn more about New York City's street trees, an outdoor laboratory for students, and a testing ground for Parks to learn more about the viability of different street tree species.
