Hike, climb, bike and paddle your way across New York City with 2007's Adventures NYC.  Presented by the Department of Parks and Recreation and Backpacker Magazine, New Yorkers can experience the outdoors with a variety of different activities and events.  Join us in Central Park on June 16th or head to your favorite neighborhood park to enjoy the day.

Central Park's Adventures NYC will offer a ton of different activities, demos, sponsors and sampling. To name a few:

  • Awesome half pipe for skaters and bikers presented by Red Bull. Come out to see NYC’s top talent coordinated by ZooYork.
  • Amazing trampoline flying show by the tremendous Flying Ace All-Stars.
  • Climb the rock wall, bike with Cannondale and hike through the park with the Urban Park Rangers to take part in Bear Naked Granola’s "Triple Crown Challenge".
  • Paddle your way across Bethesda Lake in a single or tandem kayak provided by Princeton Ski Shops. Instruction available.
  • Fun for the whole family in Merrell's Kid's Zone! Fishing, rock climbing, arts and crafts, science activities, obstacle course with the New York Road Runners Foundation, yoga and more.
  • Teach your Child to Ride a Bike clinics offered for beginning bike riders. Bring your own bike and you’ll be a pro in no time!
  • Join the Department of Transporation and learn more about their free bike helmet giveaway.
  • Boot Camp fitness classes, running tours, cooking demos, fashion show, raffles, samples, music and more!
  • Mountain Bike Skills Clinic Ride at Highbridge Park MTB Trails, 9-11 am
    Are you a beginner or intermediate mountain biker interesting in improving your trail riding skills? Explore the new Highbridge Park mountain bike trails with experienced guides from NYCMTB and build confidence as you ride. Guides will assist riders in tackling technical trail features- rocks, logs, jumps and drops- while showcasing the first legal mountain bike trails in NYC. Meet in Highbridge Park at the corner of Dyckman and Nagle Streets, across from the 1 train station at Dyckman, at 9 am. Must wear helmet. Visit http://www.nycmtb.com/ for more info.
