Exhibition Opening: Flushing's Freedom Mile

Stop by and view the Queens Historical Society's new exhibit in its new display, which discusses the evolution of the brochure, Flushing's Freedom Mile: A Walking Tour of Historic Flushing, and the history of the sites in the brochure.  The exhibit celebrates the redesign and updating of the brochure, which was first printed 20 years ago.

Free with admission. ($3/adults; $2/seniors & students: free children 10 and under)

Directions:  Subway: #7 to Main Street, Flushing.  Walk two blocks east on Roosevelt Avenue to Bowne Street, turn left and walk to Margaret Carman Green Park, walk through the park to Kingsland Homestead on the left. Bus: Q12, 14, 15, 17, 26, 27, 44, 48, 65, or 66 to Main St.; Q13 or 28 to Parsons Boulevard & Northern Boulevard.

This event is part of the Historic House Trust’s Historic House Festival, a citywide celebration of the historic houses in city parks.  On Saturday and Sunday, September 20 and 21, 22 historic houses across the five boroughs will open their doors for events and special tours.
