This is a Limited Access Recreation Center.

Recreation Centers will be open from 9:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. on Monday, May 28, 2012. Regular hours will resume on Tuesday, May 29, 2012. The Flushing Meadows Pool and Rink will be open for regular hours on Monday, May 28, 2012.

Swimming Pool

     Everyday, the pool schedule and any special announcements can be accessed by calling the center at (718) 599-5707 and then pressing the number 5.

The pool is 3 feet at its shallow end and 10 feet at its deep end.

Pool dimensions: 75 feet X 30 feet (25 yards)

18 laps = quarter mile

36 laps = half mile

54 laps = three quarters of a mile

72 laps = one mile

Note: Children under the age of 12 years old must be accompanied by an adult!

 
Things to remember: All members must wear a swimcap 12-17 yrs. can only use the pool during Family Swim times,and 12yr old members must be accompanied by an adult. No street clothes permitted on the pool deck. All items must be removed from lockers daily.

You must have a towel when using the cardio or fitness room, wash cloths or torn shirts not acceptable. No jeans or shoes allowed No bags or outer clothing (Coats/Jackets) permitted. Items must be removed from lockers daily. (Locks are clipped every evening).

Learn to Swim (Spring 2012)

The Learn to Swim program offers free swim lessons for toddlers (1½-5), children (6-17), and adults (18+) of all ages at our indoor pools. Parks offers two 10-week sessions and one 9-week session of swim instruction during the indoor pool season.

Shape Up NYC: Boot Camp

Starts November 21, 2011

Boot camps are a type of group exercise classes that mixes traditional calisthenic and body weight exercises with interval training and strength training. Be prepared to really push yourself and see great results!

***Please Note: On Monday, May 28th, the recreation center will be open from 9-5 PM. Shape Up class will be canceled for this day, but will continue normally after.
