Directions:

By Bus:
The center is easily accessible by the 61 bus, which stops one block before and one block after the center on Bedford Avenue.

By Subway: Take the L train to the Bedford Avenue station (Bedford Avenue and North 7th Street). From there, you can walk south to the center. The G train stops on Metropolitan Avenue at Union Street. The center is about seven blocks west of the G line.


This is a Limited Access Recreation Center.

Swimming Pool

     Everyday, the pool schedule and any special announcements can be accessed by calling the center at (718) 599-5707 and then pressing the number 5.

The pool is 3 feet at its shallow end and 10 feet at its deep end.

Pool dimensions: 75 feet X 30 feet (25 yards)

18 laps = quarter mile

36 laps = half mile

54 laps = three quarters of a mile

72 laps = one mile

Note: Children under the age of 12 years old must be accompanied by an adult!

     This is a time for families (adults and their children) to swim. Any child 12 and under must be accompanied by an adult. Teens are also allowed to swim.

Millennium Youth Basketball

January 23, 2010 – April 3, 2010
     Get a jump on that jump shot with the Millennium Winter Basketball League and Tournament. The league is open to boys aged 8–16 and girls aged 8–13 and takes place at recreation centers across the city. Teams meet every week (times and days vary by center).  Call (718) 965–8938 for more info.

Afterschool Swimming Lessons

February 8, 2010 – April 28, 2010
     

Parks & Recreation’s tradition of free swim instruction continues with this winter / spring’s After School Learn to Swim program. Swimming lessons for children ages 6-14 will be offered at ten pools across the City. 

Registration will be held from 9:00 a.m. – 12:00 p.m. on Saturday, January 30 and February 6 or from 4:00 p.m. – 5:00 p.m. on the registration dates listed below for each location.  Space is limited for this free program and children will be accepted on a first-come-first-serve basis.
