Shape Up NYC and Shape Magazine Team Up for Nutrition Seminars

Through a new partnership with Shape Magazine, FREE nutrition seminars will be offered before or after our most popular Shape Up NYC classes across the five boroughs.

Seminars ranging from “How to Break Up with Your Salt Shaker,” to “Eating to Beat Diabetes” will engage participants, taking them to green markets and community gardens to learn about selecting healthy, budget conscious meals and teaching participants how to prepare those foods in the kitchen.

Nutrition seminars will begin September 7th at various Shape Up NYC sites, including:

  • St. James Recreation Center (9/7 at 6 p.m.)–“Portion Control” led by Shape expert Alice
  • Harlem Hospital (9/10 at 5 p.m.)–“Sugar” led by Shape expert Trisha Calvo
  • Brownsville Recreation Center (9/20 at 6 p.m.)–“Fruits & Veggies” led by Shape Expert Juno
  • Lost Battalion Hall (9/21 at 9 a.m.)–“How Many Calories Do You Need?” led by Shape Expert Cynthia Sass
