Step Out New York City

 

This free walking program, held at various locations throughout the city, is open to New Yorkers of all ages. Each participant in Step Out New York City will receive a free pedometer and t-shirt (while supplies last).

Spring:

Walks take place on Saturday mornings (days and times may vary, please see schedule) at 25+ sites citywide.

Summer:
Walks take place 3 days a week (Tuesday and Thursday evenings, and Saturday mornings) at 50 sites citywide.

Shape Up New York

 

Shape Up New York, a free nutrition and fitness program for children and adults held during the spring and summer, encourages the development of healthy lifestyles by showing participants easy and fun ways to exercise and eat well. Developed with the New York City Department of Health, Shape Up’s classes are led by trained fitness instructors and include cycling, walking and stretching, as well as instruction on preparing healthy snacks and meals.
