Modell’s Lacrosse Program

Let Parks’ recreation staff teach your children the basics of lacrosse in an easy, free, nine-week course!

Young New Yorkers from 8 to 17 years of age can visit our recreation centers, and learn the fundamentals of this exciting sport. Equipment will be provided, and we’ll be giving out a free t-shirt to all participants while supplies last! Find a program near you, and get ready to shoot, save, and score!

Curriculum

  • Week 1: Introduction (Origin and Rules)
  • Weeks 2 and 3: Stick Handling
  • Week 4: Cradling and Shooting
  • Weeks 5 and 6: Learning the Positions
  • Weeks 7 and 8: Drills and Games
  • Week 9: Simulated Games
