Learn to Swim

Monday-Friday, July 7-August 28, 2009

Parks & Recreation and the City Parks Foundation (CPF) with the support of the American Red Cross are pleased to announce the kick-off of this year’s annual Learn to Swim program. Learn to Swim is a free instructional program that runs at New York City’s public outdoor pools. The program teaches tots (ages 1½ - 5) and children (ages 6 - 14) basic water safety and swimming skills. This summer, there are three three-week Learn-to-Swim sessions. The schedule is below.

Session Dates

Session 1: July 7 - July 22. Registration: July 6
Session 2: July 24 - August 11. Registration: July 23
Session 3: August 13 – 28. Registration: August 12

Program registration is taken on a first-come first-served basis at each pool from 9:00 a.m. to 11:00 a.m., so arrive early.

Breakfast is provided by the SchoolFood Summer Meals Program at select locations; please contact the individual pool for more information.
