Learn to Swim
Learn to Swim is a free instructional program that runs at New York City’s public outdoor pools. The program teaches tots (ages 1 ½ - 5) and children (ages 6 - 14) basic water safety and swimming skills.

Swim with the Best: Join a Parks Swim Team
The Parks swim-team training program trains swimmers and organizes teams for the annual Citywide Borough Cup Championship swimming competition. Youth between the ages of 6 and 18 who can swim 50 yards in reasonably good form will be able to participate. Locations and training times vary depending on the borough and pool.

Free Adapted Aquatics Instruction
Bethesda Aquatics, in partnership with Parks & Recreation's Citywide Aquatics Division, offers free Adapted Aquatics instruction to children and adults of all ages at five Parks pool locations this July and August. Adapted Aquatics exercise offers a complete body workout and ranges from gentle walking in water to high-energy exercise.

Adult Lap Swimming
The 27th annual outdoor adult lap swim program will give adults the chance to take to the water for health and fitness without interruption from other swimmers.

Senior Splash Program
Sponsored by Parks & Recreation, Catholic Charities, and Queens Community Board #1, this program offers water exercise classes, swim instruction, water ballet, and special activities for senior citizens and mentally and physically challenged persons. The program is open to everyone over the age of 55, as well as those with physical and developmental disabilities.
