City's seven beaches are officially
open to the public beginning
this Memorial Day weekend until
Labor Day, September 2. They
are open daily from 10 AM to
6 PM. 
Please note that there is no
swimming without a lifeguard
on duty.

fact:
In 2001, 7.14 million people
visited the City's 14 miles
of sand and surf.

June
15 and June 16, 2002
Participate
in Parks' free two-day Citywide
Handball Tournament at a court
near you! Finals will be held
on Sunday, June 16 from 9am
to 4pm at the North Meadow in
Manhattan's Central Park.

Biennial. Works by five of the 113 artists

Tennis for sport
or fun is available to all New Yorkers
with a tennis permit. Each borough has
many tennis courts. The tennis season
lasts from April until the end of November.

Play ball on one of

offered in the spring. There are also
