Winter Jam Event at Central Park, The Bandshell Area: Saturday, February 6, 2010

Presented by the NYC Parks Department and the Olympic Regional Development Authority (ORDA), Winter Jam NYC is a free annual winter sports festival that encourages New Yorkers to get out and enjoy the outdoors in the colder months!

Think you have what it takes to ride the rails? Sign up for the Switch Academy Rail Jam at the Bandshell, presented by Mountain Creek and Red Bull!

Ski, snowshoe, or play in the snow! More...

Head down to the Lake Placid Snow Field and strap on a pair of cross-country skis or snowshoes! Or make a snow sculpture with friends. Lines for skiing and snowshoeing will be open from 11 a.m. – 3 p.m. (exact times subject to change). Our partners at ORDA are blowing lots of fresh snow, so there will be plenty to go around!

Snowboarding/Skiing Lessons

Learn the basics of snowboarding and skiing, courtesy of Burton and Head. No equipment required!

Participants in the rail jam, cross–country skiing, snowshoeing, or snowboarding/skiing lessons must sign a waiver before participating in these activities. These waivers will be provided the day of the event. If you are under the age of 18, you must have a legal guardian present to sign the waiver.
