Park Note is a summer music series sponsored by the New York City Department of Parks & Recreation. Through Park Note, local artists are invited to perform in a series of different parks on Thursday evenings from 6:30pm to 7:30pm. Each week’s performance is framed by the unique character of the park providing the backdrop for the performers and their music. This summer, music ranging from R&B to Jazz to Reggaeton will take place throughout the five boroughs. This summer marks the first year of Park Note.

Park Note is the musical companion to Park Lit, a free summer reading series. Last summer, between 50 – 100 people attended each Park Lit event. Park Lit was regularly listed in Time Out New York and the New Yorker Magazine, and developed a loyal audience mixed with curious onlookers walking by. This summer 2007 marks the reading series’ second season.

Paula Valstein is a transplanted New Yorker that was raised in Tel Aviv. Paula has sold out the Israel Opera House and has performed at the Red Sea International Jazz Festival. Now living in New York, this Songstress has been selling out shows through out the city and performed at the Jeff Buckley tribute in Chicago.
