Bike Month NYC
Bike Month NYC celebrates the fun, convenience, and ease of cycling in NYC. Cycling is good for you, good for the environment, and good for New York City. Whether you are one of the city's 120,000 everyday cyclists, a weekend cyclist, or just thinking about cycling to work, Bike Month has something for you. Aimed at cyclists of all ages and ability levels, Bike Month has over 200 great events, including rides, races, art shows, commuter snacks, the Five Boro Bike Tour, the Bicycle Film Festival, the Annual DOT Bike to Shea Day, and the Annual Tour de Brooklyn.

Bicycling & Greenways

Bike Month NYC is the perfect time to take advantage of New York City's extensive system of cycling and walking trails. Currently Parks has built over 100 landscaped miles of its proposed 350-mile greenway system. Greenways answer the growing public demand for safe and pleasant ways to travel about the city. These trails crisscross the city’s five boroughs and allow New Yorkers to get to work or school, shop or do errands, or to reach the waterfront, parks, beaches, and museums.More Info

Disabled Cyclers Tour NYC
Disabled cyclers with disabilities ranging from spinal cord injuries, amputees and spina bifida participated in Five Boro Bike Tour on May 6, 2007. It was a beautiful day with lots of amazing views and a great way for handcyclers to tour the city, according to John Roberts from the Bronx. The bike tour is very receptive to including people with disabilities and is constantly adding features to get riders involved. To find out more about the bike tour, visit bikenewyork.org. Or, if you are a handcycler interested in riding with Parks, please email the Accessibility Coordinator. View Pictures in the Photo Gallery
