The New York City Department of Parks & Recreation, with Backpacker Magazine, turns the Big Apple into the country’s largest urban adventure playground with Adventures NYC, a celebration of all things outdoors in leafy Central Park. Designed to encourage New Yorkers to take advantage of the parks and natural resources just outside their doorstep, Adventures NYC offers both novice and experienced outdoor enthusiasts a variety of adventures.
- The Victorinox Swiss Army Culinary Cooking Challenge – featuring some of the country’s most renowned chefs!
- High–flying trampoline performances by The Skyriders!
- Rock climbing walls
- The Wilderness System and Eastern Mountain Sports Kayaking Center at Bethesda Terrace Lake
- Boot Camp obstacle courses
- Slackline lessons
- Yoga clinics
- Bike helmet giveaway (courtesy of the NYC Department of Transportation)
- Arts & crafts
- Live music and additional entertainment, including The Street Beats Group!
