Q: Do I need a permit to hold a party in the park if there are more than twenty people?
A: Yes, any event with more than twenty people requires a permit from Parks.

Q: Where can I have a barbecue in The Bronx? Do I need a permit to do so?
A: Yes, you need a permit to barbecue, you may barbecue in designated areas at the following locations:
1-Pelham Bay Park
2-Van Cortlandt Park
3-Orchard Beach
4-Crotona Park

Q: Where is a nice place to have an outdoor wedding reception?
A: We recommend the following locations: Van Cortlandt Park & Pelham Bay Park. For more information on getting married in the parks, visit our Weddings in the Parks page.

Q: How far ahead of time should I apply for a permit to hold an event?
A: You should apply 1 month in advance.

Q: Can I get my permit on-line?
A: No you can not, you may only apply for a permit on-line.

Q: On average, how long will it take to process my application?
A: You should allow for 1 month for your application to be processed.

Q: Is there a fee for the permit?
A: There is a non-refundable processing fee of $25.00 (no cash). It can be a check or money order made out to NYC Parks & Rec.
